Successful Pubs Through Successful Partnerships
Pub Partnerships is the leased pub estate of the the Laurel Pub Company and is widely recognised as the leading leased pub operator in the country. Pub Partnerships operates over 1800 quality pubs throughout England and Wales operating mainly on 20 year lease agreements.
It is Pub Partnerships strong track record in working with lessees to help them build their businesses that has helped us to establish an enviable reputation in the pub leasing industry.
When
you first sign up to a Pub partnerships lease you take part in a comprehensive
Lessee Development and Induction Programme. This gives you all the skills and
knowledge that you will need to start running your business. At the end of the
programme you will have completed the BII qualifying exam and the National Licensee
Certificate. We also recognise that lessees need additional support during the
first few months and so we offer a mentoring programme where experienced lessees
offer practical advice and local knowledge.
As your needs change and grow, your retail and training manager will advise you of the range of formal training courses offered to you and your staff. On average more than 200 workshops are held throughout the year covering over 20 subjects and attended by more than 2000 lessees, managers and staff.
When you take a lease from Pub Partnerships you're not on your own. We aim to help you mind your own business but at the same time you've got the freedom to express yourself and put your ideas into action.
Your
pub will benefit from the help of a team of experts who will work with you to
achieve your goals and can help you on every subject you're likely to come across
in the day to day running of your business.
Business Development Manager - Your key contact will be the Business Development Manager (BDM) assigned to help you. He or she acts as a true business advisor and retail consultant and with a ratio of just 1 BDM to 45 pubs (the industry norm is 1:70) you can be sure that you'll be able to call on them whenever you need help.
Business development managers are highly trained retail consultants who are able to spend time with individual pubs to help lessees grow their business. Critical to the lessees/BDM relationship is the House Business Plan, a mutually agreed course of action which details commitment by both Pub Partnerships and the lessee to help grow each individual pub business.
Catering - Pub Partnerships employs a food team whose role is to offer support and advice on every aspect of building sales and delivering pub food. This takes in everything from kitchen design and planning, menus and dish costing, training in food hygiene, advice on new products and food packages, to scouring of suppliers and purchasing of kitchen equipment.
Marketing
- You might have the best business in the world but it won't grow if you don't
tell people about it.. This is where Marketing can help. Using all the expertise
within Pub partnerships, Marketing are able to give the most up to date advice
on what today's consumers are really looking for. From major drinks brand promotions
to big screen sports events, taking in pub re-openings and special events.
Financial Advice - Money is a big driver in business and the pub business is no different. Your BDM will be able to help you with forecasting models which will determine retail price ranges and gross sales profit. In addition we also have a team of specialist regional finance managers who can talk to you in practical terms about money matters which impact specifically on your business.
Property Development Managers - We are able to assist you throughout the capital investment process if you are thinking of developing your pub right through the development process from planning to instructing architects and designers etc.
With Pub Partnerships whether you are buying beer, food, equipment or services you'll be able to take advantage of Laurel's buying muscle that offers huge savings which are passed on to Pub Partnerships lessees as part of our commitment to help you build your business.
Our
food deals alone have seen discounts of over £1m passed onto lessees and
we pride ourselves on ensuring that product quality is of the highest standards.
The Pub Partnerships lease spells out our legal obligations to you as well as outlining your part of the agreement. Our standard lease is for a 20 year period.
Running a leased pub business in the highly competitive UK leisure market is no 9.00 - 5.00 job. You will need stamina, resourcefulness, drive and commitment, in addition to hospitality skills, business acumen and entrepreneurial flair.
